awesome week!!

By Chris

Wow this past week was really great.  SQL class on tuesday was fantastic.  And then C# class on Thursday was equally as good.  Its going to be a really great Semester.  And I have gotten a new job.  A tech atfedex going around installing little and big cafe systems for their clients.  Its looking to be a lot of fun. Then this past weekend was Glorias birthday.  That was alot of fun.  we all went out to a fancy steakhouse and dressed up.  And wow-eeie   Gloria looked like a million bucks.  I felt like the luckiets man their :)  I shall have to see if I can steal some of the pictures from her mom and put them up here.   Then in about 1 week  its going to be primary time here in AZ.  Man what a day.  The field isn’t looking to great people.  Also Fred Thomson got out of the race this past week so their is one less guy now. And as for Mr. Ron Paul?  hmm hes a bit of a right wing nut.  Talking of abolishing certain depts of the gov and different things like that.  I appreciate his passion however he just has no hope of winning.  Not enough votes.  And he literally is crazy with some of his ideas.  But anyway to each their own.  Politics is a crazy game.   One last thought to chew on before I go.  Why is it that politicians promise the sky to these stupid people that go to these campaign rallies?  When most of America knows they might get one major issue passed while they are in office.  However people still eat up this propaganda junk at the rallies like they have never heard it before.  The Democrats want to give more money to the poor and needy and anyone else who wants it.  And then you have the republicans on the other hand who believe in National Defense and whatnot but have to tread lightly around the subjects since they are related to President Bush and his approval rating is so low they don’t even measure it anymore.   Well bed is calling my fellow Americans.  Good night to all and have a great week.

Going great so far

By Chris

Well this new yr has really turned out with a bang. My database and C# class’s is going to be a lot of fun.  I can feel it already.  Even though the db class is technically oracle the teacher said 11 out of the 12 chapters are on T-SQL syntax.  So I should be good to go with transferring that knowlegde to mysql or mssql. My first C# class was on thursday night.  Man when I got home I just wanted to start coding then and their.  But their is a time and place for everything.  I stopped by one of my friends houses on the way home and he was trying to setup debian with samba.  Poor guy.  So I recommended to him that we install ubuntu snce I’m familar with it(yes I know ubuntu is based on debian but I like the more regular releases)  anyway I told him I would set him up with a webdav server.  And I did.  It only took me less than 48hrs and now he has a webdav server.  Which is great because they run windows and macs so he can use both.  Plus I punched a hole through his linksys and set him up with a dynamic updating service so that they can get to this box from anywhere on the internet.  All in all I’m just a little proud of my box.  amazing how easy it is in linux. As for regular life.  Its going great.  things with Gloria are going really really good.  She is really a great girl.  And things at church are going really well.  We shall be starting Easter musical practice this coming Sunday.  Also I will be putting in a fileserver for our church probably this week too.  we are going to try to use a software raid5 with linux.  So its going to be a lot of fun.  P.S.  Plus this week at work I built my own spam/av filtering appliance(used a base image but upgraded and configured a bunch of packages myself).  However the big thing is that its FreeBSD.  Yes boys I took the plunge to *BSD land.  And I LIKE it.  Ports is awesome.  Almost like gentoo just without the conf and emerge headaches.Well bed is calling.  I know this was a long post but its going to be a good year.  I can feel it.P.P.S.  McCain won SC and Hillary won Nevada.  WOW  the field this yr just ain’t that great boys.  Its all about how much do you want to comprimise on your beliefs?  Do you value life of an unborn baby more than an immigrant?  more than a terrorist?  what big questions we have folks.

Iowa is today

By Chris

Well today is the day of he Iowa Caucus.  The day 150,000 have the ability to impact the rest of the nation.  Some might call it a sham because that small amount of people have the ability to impact the whole nation.  But we shall see what happens.  Right now the dems and the reps are tied neck and neck and the 3 big dem players are all tied(Edwards, obama, Clinton) and the reps are tied(Romney, Huckabee).  But is amazing is that the surge that these players will get will affect New Hampshire that is only in 5 days.  Which is the shortest amount of days between the 2 states in the whole caucus’s history.

Happy New Year!!

By Chris

Well happy new year to all.  Its going to be a great year.  A busy year but a great year.  I have great expecations of myself and of others to do their best in this new year.  Just remember that the reason why we are here is to server the Lord and not ourselves.  However the big things on my list for this year are.

  1.  12 credit hours at CGCC.
  2. First programming course(C#).
  3. Gloria leaves for college
  4. General Presidential elections.
  5. Shore up my finances in order to purchase a house.
  6. Do more and help at the church.
